School Uniform
You are here: School Information > School Uniform

The uniform for Bannerman High School is outlined below and it is our clear expectation that all pupils wear the agreed uniform. The uniform has been designed in consultation with pupils, parents and staff in Bannerman High School, and with pupils and parents in all of the associated primaries. We would ask all parents/carers to support our school policy on dress and uniform which is a key part of our arrangements to ensure the safety of our pupils and staff at all times. In addition, our uniform gives us a strong identity within our local community and helps us to foster a strong sense of pride and belonging in our school. We hope that visitors to the school will comment frequently on the smart appearance of our school pupils and the good impression that it creates.

Bannerman is an LGBT Bronze Charter school which is reflected in our uniform options. This means that all acceptable uniform is inclusive of all gender identities and expressions.

The Equality Act (2010) creates a duty on public bodies, including schools,  to have due regard to the need to: eliminate discrimination, harassment and victimisation; advance equality of opportunity; to foster good relations between people who share a relevant protected characteristic and those who do not.1 The nine protected characteristics are; age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation.
