BBC Scotland Apprenticeship

If you want a career at the BBC, if you’re passionate about making exciting, new content for TV, Radio or Online, or if you want your ideas to contribute to changing the BBC’s digital landscape, then there’s no better place to start turning that dream into a reality than through gaining a place on the BBC Scotland Apprentice Scheme.  BBC Scotland Apprentices will be based in Glasgow and work across various departments throughout the year making TV, Radio and online content for all kinds of output and programmes.

If you have a passion for producing brilliant content, keen to learn the production process and are serious about a career in the media, then the BBC Scotland Apprenticeship scheme really is a great opportunity for you.

We are looking for 10 people to offer the chance to work with BBC professionals on Radio, TV and Online content across a range of departments such as Sport, Children’s, Learning and News. You will gain on-the-job experience along with BBC training whilst studying at Glasgow Kelvin College, which will all add up to the skills and knowledge you need to achieve a Creative & Digital Media Apprenticeship at Level 3.

Mobile Guardian Sales Apprentices

Apprentice HGV Technician
Location: Motherwell
Weekly wage: £180.00
Hours: 40 hours (Monday – Friday 7:30am – 4:30pm)
Future Prospects: Progression to Advanced Apprenticeship level 3 and to an HGV full time position
Apprenticeship start date: September

Employer description: Petit Forestier is the leader of refrigerated vehicle rental and contract hire in the UK. We operate from 15 depots strategically located throughout the UK. Our fleet of refrigerated vehicles exceeds 6,000 units, ranging from car-derived vans to trailers.

Skills required: A basic Mechanical aptitude required.

Qualifications required: 5 N5s A-C including English, Maths and Science (or equivalent) and 2 other subjects

Training provided: Block release at Stephenson College. Full details and framework including NVQ, Technical Certificate, NVQ, Employer Rights & Responsibilities and Functional Skills will be discussed at time of assessment/interview. Motor Vehicle (Heavy) Competence Diploma Level 2. 24 Months.

Assessment/Interviews: Stephenson college will arrange for a representative to come meet the candidate at Petit, Glasgow in which they will carry out Maths, English and ICT assessments unless certificates are provided. There will also be an informal interview at this stage. If the candidate is successful to the next stage then they will be invited in for an interview with Petit.

Reality check: You will be expected to stay away from home during the block release at college; accommodation will be arranged for you by the college at no cost to you.

Building Services Apprentice Technician

If you are interested in design, have a flair for solving problems, maths and science and enjoy working with computers this position would be perfect for you. We are looking for a candidate who has drive, determination, an excellent communicator and enjoys working in a team.

As a Building Services Apprentice Technician you will work with a team of Engineers and other professionals in the construction industry to design various installations found in buildings. These typically include systems such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning, drainage, lighting, power, controls and lifts, to service buildings, which meet the environmental needs of the people that use them.

The buildings take on many forms from newly built facilities to the refurbishment of historic premises for every sector of industry such as defence, health, finance, education, research etc.

You will be working Monday to Friday with one day attending College during term time to study a BTEC Level 3.

Key tasks/responsibilities: Preparation of simple calculations; General sizing calculations; Production of manual and CAD (Computer Aided Design) drawings; Site visits (after obtaining a site safety CSCS card); Site surveys; Contributing to providing solutions to design problems; Ensuring designs meet required standards following our Integrated Management System; Keeping your training log up to date and attending training/CPDs where appropriate; Supporting the administration of projects
